Working across sculpture, mixed media, Asian Sumi-e ink painting, and handmade papers, her work bridges fluid, traditional techniques with tactile, three-dimensional construction. From expressive wall-hanging niches to small, character-filled sculptural objects, each piece is crafted to bring unexpected depth, story, and personality into living spaces. Cathy’s process is grounded in playfulness and organic form. Inspired by wildlife, nature, and the intricate details of daily life, she builds layered compositions that invite viewers to look closer—discovering hidden textures, delicate line work, and a sense of wonder.
My life is deeply rooted in rhythm as a performing musician and an art educator of over 30 years. For me, visual art and music are sister forms: both rely on cadence, harmony, and improvisation to bring an idea to life.
