Bison antiquus, the antique bison or ancient bison, is an extinct species of bison that lived in the late Pleistocene of North America until around 10,000 years ago, during the last glaciation. Around 150,000 years ago, the steppe bison crossed the Bering Land Bridge from Sibera into North America and eventually evolved into Bison antiquus, a major food source for the Native Americans.
