Ron Hodgdon

From a very young age I've been drawn to our natural world. Born in Colorado, I grew up in the midwest and spent much of my childhood with family in the Minnesota farm belt and eastern seaboard. My time in the wild continues to add to my appreciation and fascination with nature and my skills of observation. I've worked from our home/farm since moving to S. Oregon in 1989.

My work in pencil, watercolor and photography are highly detailed and usually tend toward the traditional. Other works, including digital, range from traditional to tribal, geometric abstracts to the completely whimsical.

Early interests in the arts started as a fascination with native birds, the works of Andrew Wyeth, Winslow Homer, Disney and even Dr. Suess. I studied fine arts and the applied arts at the American Academy of Art/Chicago. All of my interests, along with a broad national design career, branched out into photography, digital composition, illustration, drawing from models and other creative mediums including poetry. After more than 50 years, I still love what I do and am grateful everyday to have the arts in my life!

Originals, lithographs, Giclees and other prints and products are available for many of these works. I hope you enjoy this collection!
