Ann DiSalvo
Drawing
My artwork encompasses realism, surrealism, abstraction, and departures into simpler forms. Figure studies have claimed most of my drawing hours from 1987 to present. Founded the Pomegranate Group; Monday Morning drawing session, and facilitated weekly figure drawing sessions for 10 years at Ashland Art Center. Portraiture from life and plein air landscapes in pastels are also a strong focus. Having been a gardener most of my life, at home and for hire, I predict our new garden in Talent will turn up in my future drawings.
Joined the Ashland Gallery Association in 1998; served on the board for a majority of years to present, previously as Secretary, currently, President.
Iām from Wisconsin, educated to Bachelor of Science in the Arts at UW Stevens Point. Resided in Kentucky twelve years; illustrated in ink for Ky. Nature Preserves Commission and The Nature Conservancy. Free-lanced extensively. Learned craft work: basketry and candlemaking. Relocated to Oregon in 1992. Worked in antler carving for 5 years. Opened Studio A.B in Ashland with partner, Bruce Bayard, 1998 to 2021 until our move to Talent, and opened The Talent Gallery. My art is in collections across the US.
